What is the difference between BTT and SQE?
BTT qualifies you as a Barrister-at-Law, regulated by the Inns of Court. SQE qualifies you as a Solicitor under the SRA. BTT is courtroom-focused; SQE opens commercial, corporate, and international roles. Both are globally recognised UK qualifications.
Can Pakistani graduates take the SQE?
Yes. The SQE has no nationality restriction. Any graduate — law or non-law — can sit SQE1 and SQE2. Pakistani LLB holders are particularly well-positioned given their existing legal foundations.
Do I need to travel to the UK?
All preparation is done in Pakistan through Lincoln Law. SQE assessments are at Pearson VUE centres. BTT requires a period at an Inn of Court in the UK — Lincoln Law guides you through this entire process.
What qualifications do I need to apply?
BTT requires an LLB or equivalent law degree. SQE requires any bachelor’s degree. Our admissions team will assess your specific eligibility personally.
How long does preparation take?
BTT runs 6–12 months. SQE spans 6–18 months depending on prior experience, split across SQE1 (knowledge assessments) and SQE2 (practical skills).
